By dynamically moving the XCO-TRAINER® back and forth, the oscillating mass is propelled rocket-like from one end of the bar to the other. This generates the REACTIVE IMPACT.
On a muscular level, this to and fro causes a simultaneous tensing of agonist and antagonist such as biceps (arm flexor) and triceps (arm extensor). This so-called co-contraction protects the joint.
Step 1: Fix the hand straps to your XCO-TRAINERs®
Step 2: Put your hand through the strap of the XCO-TRAINER® and pull the strap tight while keeping your hand open.
Step 3: Start to run normally, at first allowing your XCO-TRAINERs® to swing easily alongside your body without moving them. Make sure to keep your body straight. At this stage, the oscillating mass (granules) is not yet activated!
Step 4: First impact – use short movements to thrust the oscillating mass upwards while keeping your elbows bent (normal walking motion).
Step 5: Now start to slightly rotate your upper body and to thrust the oscillating mass alternatively towards both ends of the XCO-TRAINER® while keeping up the walking motion and slightly lowering your shoulders. Your shoulder muscles start working.
Step 6: Keep moving your arms while walking. Adjust duration and intensity of the training to your personal level of fitness.
Step 7: Integrate fitness exercises while continuing to walk as well as standing still. This ensures your heart rate remains stable.
